This one was bought as a poor old and beaten bike. The PO was a really nice guy that was selling it to take care of his family. He had spent hours trying to polish it up before I arrived to look at it. I ended up buying it, cracking and chipping yellow paint and all. It spent the winter of '08 in my basement and came out a brand new animal. The reason no one modded this engine was that the intakes are small and cast into the cylinders, placing a huge limit on what could be done to the engine. Many hours were spent opening them up almost 4 mm each to a respectable size, smoothing the bridge, greatly reducing its size and moving it back from the carbside. The piston skirts altered along with complete reworking of the exhaust, intake and transfers. The heads were separated and milled, Jon Jemco built my pipes and the larger 30mm carbs are from an H2. The paint (rattlecan) and pinstripes were both done by me and done to match the period scheme of the Black and Gold. This bike now runs like a raped ape yet retains decent low end power!
I have done lots of work to H1's & 2's and believe the Suzuki engine to be much better engineered and built. My bike retains the oil injection and SRIS to cut down on smoking off idle. The astute observer will notice the long intake adapters. These appear to create a nice fat mixture stream feeding directly into the cases but further work may shorten or change them.
I actually have two '75's now as I received one after finishing this bike as payment for porting a guys H1. My reproduction paint job looks twin to the factories!! Almost!<LOL>
